What to wear to a cocktail party?

Weekend evening at country club. Jackets required for men. I have dressy gray pants – can I wear them with a fancy top? Any suggestions for a top?

Cocktail party usually means a cocktail dress. But you could dress up a nice pair of slacks if you have the body for it and wear very feminine heels and a sexy top. You don’t want to look like you are dressing for the office.
