What do I wear to a singles Holiday party that is tagged “cocktail casual?”?

I’m female looking to meet men, and I am going to attend a singles holiday party in a pub sponsored by an online dating service and the dress is “cocktail casual.” Describe what that means to you.

Cocktail casual usually means dressy casual, a nice outfit, not too formal or too casual. No long gowns, and no jeans. It’s a fun and flirty look. When in doubt, it’s better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.

A knee, or slightly above the knee, dress. A knee, or slightly above the knee, skirt and blouse. Pants with a dressy top.

Since it is a holiday party for singles, I would stay away from the little black dress, which many women will be wearing. You want to stand out from the crowd, and get noticed in whatever colors and styles complement you the best.
